I trained as an internist-immunologist\/allergist at Erasmus MC. This means I specialize in the functioning of internal organs and the systems involved in their cooperation, such as the heart and blood vessels, hormone regulation, and metabolism in general. Within internal medicine, I further specialized in the immune system, which plays a role in autoimmune diseases, immune disorders, and allergies. <\/p>

Although conventional medicine offers many essential and effective treatments, I found a lack of time and attention for the person as a whole in the hospital. As a result, lifestyle factors and aspects that play a role in the interaction between a person and their environment are often overlooked. <\/p>

Additionally, I experienced that treatments focusing solely on prescribing medication can fall short in addressing underlying causes, especially in chronic conditions.<\/p>

Because I want to offer a broader range of treatments, after my specialization as an internist-immunologist\/allergist, I pursued additional training in Integrative Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. In my current practice, I combine my medical expertise as an internist-immunologist with insights from lifestyle medicine and integrative medicine. From an integral health perspective, I look at the interrelationships between complaints and organ systems, aiming to uncover the core of the health problem. Treatments consist of lifestyle interventions supplemented with treatments from integrative medicine. <\/p> <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
